Gonzalez Architects is an East Coast based firm practicing architecture, urbanism, and planning. A resource for information and analysis, Gonzalez Architects operates across typical boundaries to deliver precise implementation of expert design. The work spanning over thirty years and myriad typologies has focused on a careful understanding of the forces at play to deliver viable, sustainable work.

With work throughout North America, the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Middle East, the firm now maintains offices in Savannah and Miami. As an active leader in hospitality, the firm’s work ranges from analysis of existing properties, consulting on strategic implementation of capital across broad portfolios to design-centric one-off luxury boutique hotel architecture and interiors. In the commercial realm Gonzalez Architects is currently engaged in the rebranding of properties on both coasts.

Extensive work in complex renovations, historic preservation, and adaptive reuse has left the firm well positioned in our reorganized professional landscape. Evaluating existing properties and cost effectively applying client’s program through expert design.

Gonzalez Architects was founded in 1981 by Jose Gonzalez, with offices in historic Key West and Miami Beach. The firm has engaged in complex work since its inception from high-end residential, affordable housing, civic, institutional, and educational to urban planning and land-use.

Jose A Gonzalez

Jose Gonzalez founded Gonzalez Architects in 1981in Key West, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1978 and after positions in both Washington DC and Miami, Florida set up his eponymous firm. Working throughout North America, the Caribbean, Central America and the Middle East Jose Gonzalez has driven the multinational work of the Savannah and Miami based practice. Operating as both designer and consultant, he has redefined the role of architect in our current environment as a resource for both information and analysis.

Monica D’Ambra

Monica D’Ambra joined Gonzalez Architects in 1991and has led many of the firm’s largest works to date. Her focus on a global understanding of the practice of architecture has allowed her to be a major resource within the firm, from organizing and coordinating constituents to the nuanced dealings with clients, institutions, bureaucracies and labor. As Project Director, she oversees a vast portfolio of work throughout the firm’s various typologies. Along with managing individual projects, she coordinates strategies for implementing talent throughout Gonzalez Architects’ various offices.

Marie V Priore

Working as a Registered Architect, Marie Priore operates across territories. Extensively consulting for Gonzalez Architects ADA, she is intimately involved in the analysis and design strategies for properties throughout North America in regard to ADA and Department of Justice issues. Bridging the gap between architect and consultant Marie Priore, LEED AP, is also behind the firms green initiative and the intelligent implementation of sustainable design. These roles find her working across portfolios and building typologies as the firm works to be expert in both analysis and implementation.

Matthew Deacon

Matthew Deacon joined Gonzalez Architects in 2012. With extensive work in adaptive re-uses of historic buildings, large scale industrial complexes, and custom residences Matthew brings to the firm considerable knowledge pertaining to the materials, products and systems at the forefront of building. As a LEED accredited architect, his understanding of sustainable concepts and emerging green technologies has found him leading material research for Gonzalez Architects as the firm works to stay ahead of trends within our varied project types.

Jonathan Gonzalez

Jonathan Gonzalez joined Gonzalez Architects in 2008. Responsible for emerging markets within the firm, Jonathan‘s work as designer bridges the divide between product, branding, interiors and architecture. Currently running the Miami office as lead designer, Jonathan has recently been responsible for boutique projects in Los Angeles, Boston, New York City and Savannah. As director of GA, a concept driven wing of González Architects, he is involved in the image, graphic design and branding of González Architects projects both in and out of architecture/building.

PROJECT ARCHITECT

 

POSTION OVERVIEW:

High-end hospitality design firm seeks project architect for our Miami office.  5-10 years of experience with proven experience developing construction documents in hospitality or other typology.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

-Registered Architects desired [not required].

-Strong knowledge of architectural design, detailing, drafting, building codes, building materials, building systems, construction costs and techniques.

-Demonstrates an understanding of all facets of the design and construction process.

-Ability to multi-task, work within a team, and coordinate with consultants

-Proficiency in Autocad required

-3D skills [Revit, 3DS Max]  plus

-Adobe Products [Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign] plus
